Paddlers Prefer Pie to Energy Bars

"I'd rather have a slice of pie over an energy bar any day," exclaimed some of the area's leading paddlers in a recent survey.

This comment captures the sentiment of a majority of paddlers, members of an elite segment of the market known as weekend warriors. These paddlers spend quiet weekdays at work and bust loose on those rare nice weekends and evenings when the weather suits them.

Four out of five weekend warriors surveyed agreed they were more likely to choose pie over an energy bar given the choice. "Give me a cherry or apple pie and I'd scarf that down in a minute. That energy bar can sit in my day pack for another season, I know it will last " said Pete Bog a web site developer from Minnetonka, MN.

"My wife and I generally keep a fresh pie stashed in our day packs. We discovered these clever re-sealable containers that hold our pies with only minor crust damage. We can reuse them unlike the wrappers from the energy bars which are just landfill. "Our re-sealable container can be washed over and over and we consider it a renewable resource instead of landfill," said Susan Bog, Pete's Wife.

Our experience is that pie will last days on our trips in the BWCA. Folks start speaking in tongues: It's Greek to me said Lorem Ipsum "dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Donec molestie."
