I've been converting dimensions for plank lines into easy to read plans for customers so they can build their own boats. Construction manuals to build these boats will also be available to help you get great results.

After building my first two boats from plans I went out looking for more plans to build. After a while I went looking for something different and so were a few clients. This got me started on the design side. I like working with folks to pull together exactly what they are looking for. This left me with lots of near hits.

The plans I sell are exploratory designs developed for clients but not delivered in final form. Truthfully, few clients will accept the initial drafts and I fully understand that sentiment. There is nothing inherently unsound with the designs, customers prefer to tailor the dimensions to fit there needs.

I soon realized there was an extensive library of perfectly good hull designs waiting to be created and they would be perfect for someone out there. reclaiming some of the time spent developing these lines made perfect sense when my brother-in-law pointed it out to me.

The how to manual is under development. The plans are easily understood by anyone who has already built a boat of this nature. For first time builders I can recommend a few books to read before starting this project. These books would make a decent substitute for the construction manual if case you already have them. The plans are for those who like to build boats.

While some clients are folks who don't have the time, the tools or the inclination to become a boat builder, they do enjoy the benefits, especially the light weight and the beauty of the wood. Often with jobs, family, and other commitments they realize that a set of plans or a kit boat will never be built. Folks must keep in mind the thought: what would I rather be doing? Cutting, gluing, sanding and varnishing a boat on a nice day or would I rather be out paddling?

For me it's about bringing the joy to people. If I can share with you an abundant world view through my custom creations, then you can go forward and share that gift with others. By the way, only trust others to paddle your boats if they appreciate it as much as you.
