Paddle Beautiful Boats
It really is that simple to get a wood canoe or kayak tailor
made for you. I design Fine Wood Watercraft for paddling,
rowing or sailing. It brings me joy putting people in their
ideal boat. I have stock designs and can quickly modify
designs for your unique needs.
These durable, strong, hand made watercraft are ideal for those outings when you want to bring the "Good Boat." Perhaps you're ready to retire the heavy canoe or kayak which never gets used anymore because it's heavy and bulky. There is nothing quite as joyful as spending time in your favorite waters paddling a handmade wood boat.
I'm always looking for a few good customers. I can help you figure out what kind of boat will work for you and perhaps show you some options you had not thought about. You always get the straight story here.
I have 75+ canoe plans and kayak plans on hand as well as
small rowing and sailing craft. For those folks who wish to
take on building one of these boats themselves, let me know
what you are interested in and how you would like the plans.
If you have never built a boat, I can give you recommendations
on the best books to read first given the project you are
looking to begin. For folks who know that a nice day was meant
for paddling, not boat building, I can have a hand made boat
made to your specifications ready in as few as three weeks.

Across The Pond
This service of providing custom stitch and glue plans is
essentially a side line hobby for me. I still do it and
generally have custom lines plans for the hull done in under a
week. Finished designs can be sent immediately. I just haven't
had the time to properly load them up to this website.
In late Fall 2009, my wife and I (she is a veterinarian)
opened Advanced
Care Pet Hospital in Sartell, Minnesota. It is our full
time occupation managing the business and caring for the pets.
I still appreciate working with those interested in building
small wood boats so don't hesitate to call or write. See the
